principle town of North Tipperary. Tipperary is the largest inland County in Ireland and is situated in the
midlands, bordering Clare, Limerick, Cork, Waterford, Kilkenny, Laois, Offaly and Galway. For administrative
purposes the County was split into two divisions North and South Riding in 1838. In this regard Nenagh is
the administrative centre for Tipperary North Riding. The 2011 Census shows a population of 65,988
persons in North Tipperary and 7,995 persons for Nenagh and its environs. Nenagh however serves a
catchment area of circa 21,500 persons. Nenagh is traditionally a market town and its Irish name An
tAonach translates to market or fair. Nenagh is located to the North of the County on the N7 (Limerick to
Dublin Road) and is approximately 160 km from Dublin and 45 km from Limerick. Nenagh enjoys many
sporting facilities including Irelands only indoor athletic arena, two swimming pools, golf, pitch & put clubs,
tennis, squash, basketball, renowned yacht club, gyms, taekwondo and kick boxing. As you would expect in
Tipperary there several strong GAA clubs with excellent facilities for hurling, camogie, football and handball.
In addition Nenagh is situated close to the shores of Lough Derg and the Shannon with several water based
activities and lakeside walks. The Silvemines mountains also provide excellent hill walking opportunities.

the main Dublin to Limerick Motorway M7, Nenagh acts as a focal point for routes connecting with other
centres, including the National Secondary Route N52, the corridor to the Midlands from the South. By virtue
of its strategic location, lying in close proximity to the largest lake on the River Shannon, Lough Derg,
Nenagh has evolved as an important focal town. Nenagh is best accessed from the M7 by using exit 25 and
is located 40km from Limerick, 156km from Dublin and 137km from Cork. Coming from the M7 exit 25
(Thurles Road) you will pass the Mid Western Regional Hospital and Railway Station on your right. Our
