Gabriel O?Brien BSc MRICS ASCS MIAVI and Darina Collins BA MIAVI both property professionals in their own right with over 30 years experience in the local and national property market, set up O?Brien Collins Real Estate Alliance in 2002 to offer their clients a professional and specialist property service in the greater Drogheda area. Since then the company, a founder member of the national property group Real Estate Alliance, has gone from strength to strength, increasing the number of professional staff employed and relocating to larger modern premises at John Street in early 2005. O?Brien Collins Real Estate Alliance now handles a large portfolio of both commercial and residential properties in addition to several new homes schemes. We are the only Property Consultants in Drogheda with a Chartered Valuation Surveyor and, as such, can carry out a wide range of valuation work across all property sectors.
Drogheda, itself, is a bustling town on the River Boyne and strategically placed along the New M1 Motorway. The airport is a 25-minute drive away. Numerous local amenities include miles of safe sandy beaches, three famous golf links courses, a good choice of shopping facilities which are set to improve further with the advent of two state of the art shopping centres currently under construction at Scotch Hall and Laurence Street. There are excellent direct rail and bus services into the heart of Dublin City EDUCATION Drogheda enjoys a wide selection of good montessori, primary and secondary schools. The choice of secondary schools within Drogheda include St. Marys Diocesan School (boys), Sacred Heart (girls), Drogheda Grammar School (boys & girls). Gormanston College is a private secondary school (boys & girls) situated just south of Drogheda and Scoil Aonghusa is an all Irish primary school at Sundays Gate, on the north side of Drogheda. BEACHES There are miles of unrivalled safe sandy beaches located closeby, stretching along the coast from Clogherhead to Mornington, Bettystown and Laytown. SHOPPING The retail scene within Drogheda is fast changing with a number of new schemes presently under construction including the new Shopping Centre at Laurence Street and, perhaps, most notably the new Scotch Hall Shopping Centre & Leisure Complex on the towns South Quays / Dublin Road, opening November 2005 and comprising approximately 25,000 sq m (269,000 sq ft) of fashion, food and entertainment space. Anchored by Dunnes Stores (food & fashion/household), this centre will accommodate many leading multi-national and national fashion retailers in addition to a new multi-screen cineplex and a variety of restaurants and eateries fronting on to the River Boyne. PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION & ACCESSIBILITY Droghedas mainline rail station on the Dublin Road with the Enterprise train provides a fast travelling time of 28 minutes to Dublins Connolly Station and the I.F.S.C. The bus station also runs ever frequent and continuous daily bus services to Dublin city. The new M1 Motorway allows a greatly increased accessibility to Dublin and the M50. HEALTHCARE Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda provides the widest possible range of medical facilities within the North East. SPORTING FACILITIES The town has a wide variety of sports clubs including soccer, rugby, GAA and tennis in addition to the well renowned golfing clubs at Baltray (Co Louth), Seapoint (Links) and Bettystown (golf & tennis). ENTERTAINMENT The bustling town of Drogheda has a wide array of day and nightlife, provided for by an ever increasing number of pubs, nightclubs, restaurants and cinemas. All tastes are catered for within this growing town which, of course, also benefits from its ease of access to all that Dublin city life has to offer.
