Description

Description
Rightly regarded as Carlow's premier beauty spot, St. Mullins nestles on the banks of the Barrow at the point it becomes tidal.

The village is named after St. Moling, (614-697), who founded the monastery there.

At high tide, barges and boats arrive from New Ross and start weaving their way up the Barrow, using the river and canal system as far as Dublin if they so wish.

Blanchfields is well-positioned to take advantage of all tourist trade coming to or stopping off in this pretty village.

A haven for fishermen with salmon, trout and sea trout amongst the sport fish available, St. Mullins has long been a popular day outing for people of Carlow, Wexford and Kilkenny for fishing or simply walking along the Barrow Track to Graiguenamanagh and the picturesque Clashganny.

There is an excellent cafe, The Mullicháin Café, a number of BnB's, and alternative accommodation.

Local facilities include church and school, c. 1 km away.

Blanchfields has a wonderful old-world feel, an excellent lounge bar and good accommodation. It is also the only pub in the village.

As part of the package, there is a separate 2-bed house, ideal for Airbnb.

Blanchfields overlooks a green area and has good external seating, ideal for the warmer months.

The backbone of the business is however, a good and loyal local trade which should pass seamlessly to the new owner.
