Huntstown House is situated in the quiet coastal village of Mornington and only a short stroll from the beach and the historic Mornington Tower and Lady’s Finger. Traditionally a fishing village Mornington is close to the popular coastal towns of Laytown and Bettystown and 5 km from Drogheda. Well serviced by bus transport to both Drogheda and Dublin this charming house is ideally located for easy access to the city. There is a choice of local primary and secondary schools in the Laytown – Bettystown – Mornington areas and a full range of options in Drogheda town. Further along the coast is the popular Laytown and Bettystown Lawn Tennis and Golf Clubs with all weather courts and links course for the sporting enthusiasts.

Tucked away just off Tower Road this is a deceptively spacious 5-bedroom home on 0.133 ha (0.33 acre) of south facing gardens. Originally a traditional fisherman’s cottage the house has been extended to 202 sq m of accommodation with a two-storey extension to the rear of the original cottage. With 9 ft ceilings in the original house and 8 ft ceilings throughout the remaining rooms, this home has a lovely sense of space while still retaining the charm of a cottage.

The original cottage rooms are situated along the main entrance hallway with two double bedrooms (one with a cosy snug area), study/office and large bathroom. To the back of the house in the newer extension and overlooking the garden is the large kitchen/dining area with cream kitchen and granite worktop island. Just off the dining area is the back hall where there is a downstairs wc and separate utility room.

Double doors from the dining area lead through to a large bright living room with French doors opening out to the patio area and large south facing garden. Through another set of double doors is a second living room which straddles both the old and new parts of the house. This room provides a cosy living area with open fire and separate dining space. The stairs to the first-floor rooms can be found through the door leading back to the main hallway. Upstairs is bright and spacious with a large landing area off which there is a large master bedroom, spacious double room, another single bedroom and large bathroom.

Outside the large south facing garden is not overlooked and has been carefully tended to include mature trees and fruit gardens. There is a large patio area ideal for entertaining family and friends and a separate patio area which provides a quieter secluded area to enjoy the garden.

There is a large detached studio to the side of the house which is wired and could be used for a variety of pursuits or converted into a garage instead for the car enthusiast.
