    The "Wee County", County Louth, may be the smallest county in Ireland but the area is rich in folklore with myths and tales about the brave warrior Cu Chulainn, the Brown Bull of Cooley, Fionn MacCumhaill and the evil Queen Medbh. It is also protected under the European Habitats Directive as an area for flora, fauna and leprechauns.

    With a long, beautiful coastline of over 55 miles, there are many beaches and coves to enjoy from Carlingford to Baltray.

    Carlingford, an official European Destination of Excellence, is one of the northeast's best-kept secrets with its charming streets, cracking pubs and love of outdoor sports as well as its breathtaking scenery.

    The main towns in County Louth are Dundalk and Drogheda but there are also excellent transport links to other major towns and cities across the county.
