The Crystal County

Renowned for its beautiful Waterford Crystal, County Waterford is also steeped in history and is home to its own UNESCO Geopark. The Copper Coast has been designated as a place of geological importance for its 25km of diverse coastline. It was also the county where the Vikings first settled.

The city itself, on the River Suir, is the oldest in Ireland (created in 914 AD) and is filled with vibrant streets, busy pubs, lots of museums and the spectacular 13th century Reginald's Tower.

Away from the city, you'll find towns, villages and coastal area like Tramore, Dungarvan, Ardmore, Dunmore East and Bunmahon, each more breathtaking than the last.

The spectacular Waterford Greenway offers a 46km dedicated off road cycling and walking trail from Waterford to Dungarvan, passing along part of the Copper Coast offering breath-taking views of the Comeragh Mountains, beaches and coves.
